Project Overview

Amar Designer was delighted to work on a 3 BHK residential interior design project for Vinod Singh, located in the bustling suburb of Andheri, Mumbai. The goal was to transform his apartment into a modern, luxurious, and highly functional space tailored to his specific lifestyle and preferences. Vinod Singh sought a contemporary aesthetic that emphasized elegance, comfort, and functionality with a focus on natural elements and minimalism.

Design Requirements

The main objectives were to create a well-organized, clutter-free environment with ample storage solutions while making each room feel unique yet cohesive in design. Vinod Singh wanted:

1. Living Room: A spacious, sophisticated area for entertaining guests and family, with an emphasis on open spaces and natural light.
2. Dining Area: A stylish yet intimate space that connects seamlessly with the living room.
3. Bedrooms: Personalized bedrooms reflecting modern minimalism, with functional storage and relaxing ambiances.
4. Kitchen: A sleek, efficient kitchen designed for both cooking and casual family meals, with modern appliances and innovative storage solutions.
5. Bathrooms: Modern, luxurious bathrooms with a clean, spa-like feel.

Challenges and Solutions

One of the challenges encountered in this project was the need to maintain an open, spacious feel while incorporating ample storage solutions, especially in a busy neighborhood like Andheri. Additionally, Vinod Singh had specific preferences for incorporating eco-friendly materials, which influenced our material and design choices.

To address these challenges, we opted for smart design solutions such as multi-functional furniture, custom storage, and minimalistic elements that create an open and airy feel without sacrificing practicality.

Design Concept

Inspired by Vinod Singh’s taste for clean, modern aesthetics with a warm touch, the design concept focused on combining minimalism with natural materials. The goal was to create a space that felt both luxurious and comfortable. We used neutral color schemes, natural textures, and sleek lines throughout the apartment, while strategically introducing personalized elements in each room to reflect Vinod Singh’s lifestyle.

1. Living Room

The living room serves as the heart of Vinod Singh’s 3 BHK apartment in Andheri. Designed with an open-concept layout, it creates a feeling of expansiveness. A neutral color palette of whites, grays, and soft earthy tones provides a calm and sophisticated backdrop.

A custom-made L-shaped sofa with soft fabric upholstery enhances comfort and elegance. Floor-to-ceiling windows let in ample natural light, while a large area rug adds warmth and texture. Minimalist artwork and indoor plants bring in a fresh, modern touch.

Sleek built-in shelves and a media wall unit provide ample storage without overwhelming the space. Smart lighting solutions, including recessed lights and a statement chandelier, create a cozy atmosphere in the evenings.

2. Dining Area

Adjacent to the living room, the dining area continues the open-plan concept. Vinod Singh wanted a stylish yet practical space suitable for both family meals and social gatherings. A custom-designed dining table with a glass top and wooden base, paired with upholstered chairs, enhances comfort.

Pendant lighting above the table creates a warm ambiance, while a large mirror on one wall enhances the sense of space and reflects natural light. The seamless connection between the living and dining areas was achieved through a consistent use of neutral tones and materials.

3. Master Bedroom

The master bedroom was designed as a serene retreat, balancing luxury with relaxation. Soft blues and neutral tones create a calming ambiance, complemented by natural wooden furniture. A king-size bed with an upholstered headboard serves as the focal point, paired with custom side tables featuring integrated storage.

Floor-to-ceiling wardrobes with sliding doors optimize space, incorporating pull-out drawers and adjustable shelving for smart storage. Soft lighting, including bedside lamps and recessed ceiling lights, enhances the soothing atmosphere. A cozy sitting area by the window offers a peaceful space to unwind.

4. Guest Bedroom

The guest bedroom needed to function as both a sleeping space and a home office. A custom Murphy bed folds seamlessly into the wall, creating flexibility. A sleek desk and ergonomic chair were placed by the window for a comfortable work-from-home setup.

Neutral tones with pops of color through artwork and cushions add personality to the space. Built-in wardrobes and under-bed storage ensure maximum functionality without compromising on aesthetics.

5. Kitchen

The kitchen was designed with efficiency and practicality in mind, while maintaining a sleek, minimalistic look. A U-shaped layout maximized counter space and allowed easy movement. Sleek, handle-less cabinetry maintained a clutter-free aesthetic.

Quartz countertops in a light shade were chosen for durability and easy maintenance. Innovative storage solutions, including pull-out pantry systems and corner cabinets, made the most of the available space. Energy-efficient appliances were seamlessly integrated, complementing the modern design.

6. Bathrooms

The bathrooms were designed to offer a spa-like experience at home. Large-format tiles in neutral shades created a seamless, modern look. Floating vanities provided storage without overwhelming the space.

In the master bathroom, a glass-enclosed rain shower and LED backlit mirrors enhanced the luxurious feel. Premium fixtures and stylish finishes ensured durability and elegance.

Material Selection

To maintain the sophisticated, modern aesthetic that Vinod Singh envisioned, we selected high-quality, durable materials. Natural wood, sleek laminates, and quartz were used throughout the apartment.

Porcelain tiles were chosen for the living and dining areas, while hardwood flooring in the bedrooms added warmth. Soft furnishings, including curtains and rugs, added texture and enhanced the overall aesthetic.

Lighting Design

Lighting played a crucial role in setting the ambiance for each space. In the living and dining areas, a mix of natural light, recessed ceiling lights, and statement fixtures created a bright, airy atmosphere during the day and a cozy feel in the evening.

In the bedrooms, soft, dimmable lighting provided relaxation, while task lighting in the kitchen and bathrooms ensured functionality without compromising on style.

Custom Furniture & Finishes

Custom furniture was designed to meet Vinod Singh’s specific needs. From the sleek sofa in the living room to the built-in wardrobes, every piece was crafted to balance form and function.

Matte finishes and natural textures were chosen to complement the modern, minimalistic style. Each room was thoughtfully personalized to reflect Vinod Singh’s preferences while maintaining a cohesive design.
